New Year, New Location

New Year, New Location

My shop is small, only about 1800 square feet, including a large kitchen area, bathroom, and storage room.  I have a very small classroom that can seat only about 3 people comfortably.  Due to a huge expansion of inventory in 2017 (I just love fabric and I couldn’t help myself by buying lots and lots!!), my “charming little quilt shop” was becoming my “cramped little quilt shop”.  I knew I needed to find a bigger space.  Unfortunately, the town I am currently in didn’t have what I was looking for.  The next closest town to me was Lexington, Missouri, only 10 minutes south.  I had always liked Lexington.  It has the neatest selection of antique shops and the coolest bookstore with an awesome coffee bar.  There are also some great restaurants and for the history buffs, there is the Battle of Lexington.  So out of curiosity, I called about a storefront located right on Main street in Lexington.  It was 5000 square feet and I figured it would be way beyond what I could afford, not to mention being very anxious about filling up that much space.  But nothing ventured, nothing gained and it never hurts to ask, right?  Good thing I did because this turned out to be the most amazing location!!  So with my head still spinning, I signed the lease and announced that I am moving my shop to Lexington!!  Guess it’s time to get my fabric fix on…
